Discover Livigno

Where the name Livigno comes from is not certain, some say it originates from ‘lupine’, others from ‘slavina’. Indeed, the location, climate and landscape would lead one to think that the second option is the most plausible.

Livigno is located at 1816 m, in a 12 km long valley surrounded by mountains up to 3000 m high and is crossed by the Spöl stream (in dialect Aqua Granda).

Until the middle of the last century, it could only be reached in summer, but with the opening of the road in winter, winter tourism began to develop.

Now Livigno is one of the best known mountain tourist destinations, suitable for everyone from families to sports enthusiasts, where fun, sport, shopping, nature and relaxation are mixed together in a unique landscape.
